💡 LEGAL WRITING SQE2 1-1 MOCKS — How Our Mocks Work
🔴 DEFINITION: Legal Writing is a written SQE2 assessment, examined across all SQE2 areas of practice.
Candidates are required to draft a letter or email, usually to a client, but sometimes to the other party or the court, explaining specific legal issues based on a factual scenario.
The main challenge is the “plain English” requirement – candidates must explain complex legal issues clearly and simply, without losing accuracy. Many candidates also struggle with other key criteria, particularly client focus, structure, and prioritising relevant facts.
DELIVERY FORMAT:
The mock is delivered via the SUPERexam platform. You may book in advance, with multiple time slots-periods available. You have approximately one week from the start of the booked slots-period to access the materials and submit your advisory email. You receive an email from a partner, sometimes accompanied by a document, and are required to draft a clear advisory email.
Written feedback is provided after assessment, within one week, but we usually do it faster. Feedback focuses on legal accuracy, source selection, structure, and exam technique.
Many candidates struggle with timing in the Legal Writing exam, as it often requires explaining even basic points clearly and simply. We teach a pragmatic, exam-focused approach to manage time without losing quality.
