💡 LEGAL DRAFTING SQE2 1-1 MOCKS — How Our Mocks Work
🔴 DEFINITION: Legal Drafting is a written SQE2 assessment, examined across all SQE2 areas of practice.
It is often described as the “homework” station, as it is the only assessment where candidates can largely anticipate the task and prepare in advance. Unlike other SQE2 stations, Legal Drafting is assessed against only two skills criteria: structure and language.
Candidates may be required to draft a wide range of documents, from standard forms and precedents to drafting provisions from scratch. For example, in Property Practice this may involve amending a substantial precedent (such as a lease) or drafting a short clause, for instance a forfeiture provision.
DELIVERY FORMAT:
The mock is delivered via the SUPERexam platform. You may book in advance, with multiple time slots-periods available. You have approximately one week from the start of the booked slots-period to access the materials and submit your advisory email. You receive an email from a partner, sometimes accompanied by a document, and are required to draft a specific document, taking into account the client’s objectives.
Written feedback is provided after assessment, within one week, but we usually do it faster. Feedback focuses on legal accuracy, source selection, structure, and exam technique.
SQE2 Legal Drafting is challenging because of the wide range of possible documents tested.
That’s why we provide drafting lectures with self-practice mocks, covering the key documents most likely to appear.
