Frequently Asked Questions

What is the SQE?

The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) is the new exam you need to pass to become a solicitor in England and Wales. It’s open to a wide range of candidates, including international students and those from non-law backgrounds.

The SQE has two parts:

  • SQE1 tests legal knowledge

  • SQE2 tests practical legal skills (like client interviewing and writing)

To take the SQE, you need:

  • A university degree (in any subject) or an equivalent qualification

  • To pass both SQE1 and SQE2

  • To complete two years of qualifying legal work experience

  • To meet the SRA’s character and suitability requirements

You don’t need a law degree — just the commitment to learn and prepare.

Are these lectures suitable if I haven’t studied English law before?

Yes. Our English law lectures are designed for both beginners and professionals from other legal systems. The content builds foundational understanding while aligning with the SQE syllabus.

Who teaches the lectures?

All lectures are designed and delivered by practising solicitors with experience in SQE preparation and real-world legal practice in England and Wales.

Can I use these lectures to prepare for the SQE exams?

Absolutely. The lectures follow the SQE syllabus and are structured to help you succeed in both SQE1 and SQE2, depending on the module. They also help international students understand how English law works in practice.

How flexible is the course and access?

You can access the lectures online at your own pace, with both live-streamed and pre-recorded options. This allows you to fit study around your work or other commitments.
