Unique Synopsis SQE Notes
Struggling to remember so much SQE law? Not sure what to focus on?
Worried whether you’ve really covered everything you need for the SQE?
Our SQE1 Subject Notes and SQE2 Revision Notes are designed to solve exactly that.
They’re not just SQE summaries — they’re intelligently structured study tools
Focused on What Matters Most
Each note zeroes in on high-yield topics and common areas of confusion that are frequently tested in the SQE exams. We help you cut through the noise and focus on what the examiners actually care about.
Comprehensive Without Being Overwhelming
Our SQE notes strike the perfect balance between depth and clarity. They contain all the essential legal detail needed to answer SQE1 MCQs or SQE2 simulations correctly — without unnecessary bulk.
System-Based Understanding
Topics are presented as interconnected systems, not disjointed rules. This structure helps you grasp the bigger picture and improves both understanding and recall.
Enhanced with Visual Aids
We use tables, flowcharts, diagrams, and colour-coded structures to make even the most complex concepts memorable. Visual learning is built in — not an afterthought.
Simplified for All Backgrounds
Written in clear, accessible language, these SQE notes are ideal for foreign-qualified lawyers and candidates without formal UK legal training. Complex concepts are explained with simplicity, not oversimplification.
Focus on what matters

SQE1 & SQE2 Notes + Lectures
We do not sell notes separately from the lectures — and this is intentional. The accompanying video lectures provide vital explanations, context, and examples. Without them, candidates (especially those who have not studied these subjects at a UK university) may struggle to fully grasp the legal concepts required for the SQE exams.
Each lecture includes:
Video recordings (bite-sized format)
Synopsis Notes (with editing tool to add personal annotations or highlights)
For substantive law subjects – a case list and useful links
Occasionally, attached MCQs (though most MCQs are analysed directly in the videos)
Across the 14 subjects of SQE1 and the 5 practical areas of SQE2, the syllabus covers an enormous amount of legal material — the kind of knowledge UK students typically spend three years studying full-time for an LLB, plus an additional year on the LPC, SQE LLM, or equivalent. That’s four full years of legal education – and not all of it is equally useful when it comes to the SQE.
Our Smart Notes focus specifically on what really matters for your exam success.
Why? Because the SQE exams tend to test knowledge at the points of confusion — areas where candidates are most likely to make mistakes. These are often concepts that:
We’ve carefully designed our notes to help you spot these high-risk areas in advance. They highlight and explain these key points clearly and effectively, so you’re prepared when the challenge comes.
Even though our notes remain comprehensive, they are also structured and enhanced visually to guide your attention to what really matters — the principles and pitfalls most likely to be tested.
By tackling these confusing spots directly, we help you focus your effort where it counts, saving time and boosting confidence.
The SQE – and especially SQE2 – requires candidates to go beyond simply knowing and understanding the law. From a methodological point of view, the exam demands a higher level of engagement, because it assesses not just knowledge, but your ability to act, react, and perform real legal duties in practical scenarios.
To succeed, you must learn to see law as a system, not just a collection of rules. This means understanding how legal concepts interact with each other, how exceptions fit within general principles, and how to apply them to facts under time pressure.
Seeing law as a system helps you connect individual topics into a bigger picture. It allows you to navigate complex scenarios, spot issues more effectively, and deliver solutions that make sense both legally and practically.
The SQE tests your ability to perform as a solicitor — to analyse, decide, and act within a structured legal framework. Developing this systematic understanding of the law is crucial to demonstrating not just knowledge, but professional competence.
Both SQE1 and SQE2 are closed-book exams, which means you cannot rely on any materials during the assessment. SQE1 does give you a slight advantage because it presents you with multiple-choice options, but you still need to recall the correct rules and apply them quickly. SQE2, however, is even more demanding — you often have to spot the issues yourself without any prompts and demonstrate a comprehensive, practical application of your knowledge on the spot.
That’s why retaining and internalising the key information is critical, and it’s a cornerstone of your preparation. Memorisation must happen before you start practising MCQs or simulations.
We’ve designed our notes specifically to help you remember and structure the knowledge you need. Building on the system-based approach we described earlier, our notes allow you to see how various concepts connect within a topic, making them easier to memorise and recall.
By presenting the material as an interconnected system — with visual aids, logical hierarchies, and emphasis on points of confusion — our notes help you keep essential legal principles clear in your mind, ready to apply when the exam demands it.
